I have been working on Warped Tour for charitable causes for five years. Over the years I kept getting asked the same questions over and over, "What's it like to work for a non-profit on tour?" and "How did you get the job?" I finally realized before the summer of 2011 that I should make a documentary, to try to answer these questions.

Representing the Dear Jack Foundation and 11:11 A.M. for the past two summers, I was able to get some great footage of working throughout the day and tour life during my off time.

Handful of new things.
New theme (I was getting annoyed with everything being centered).
New organizing album to help me keep track of the timeline.
Working on the third chapter of the documentary. It will feature interviews from Chris (twloha), Andrew McMahon (Dear Jack/Jack’s Mannequin), Richie (Unite the United), and Jessie (Unite the United).
I was never a fan of being on the other side of the camera so it’s sort of weird editing footage of myself for the film. When I first started this project, I really didn’t know the direction it would go. I actually bought a nifty iPad app to organize my thoughts. I did not follow the story board at all.
I am currently just adding all video and then going back, adding music, cutting time, and add commentary. I’m very new at this (as I’ve said before) so I’m being really picky about things. It won’t look like Transformers but if it will help some people figure out if tour is for them (in a non-profit sense) then I’ll be happy.
Above are some notecards of what I’m working on at the moment.

Mini update:
First, sorry Leah for the screen shot but I just listened to a lot of footage of you playing Sushi Palace (so we’re even). Second, I laid the groundwork for the second part of the documentary: “A day in the life of…” It will go into depth about what one should expect throughout a whole day of work. A lot of clips are from different days but it’s just how it could be done. The time is wrong because I haven’t started editing it. Finally, I’m hoping to have the whole film below 45 minutes but that could possible change.
Maybe I’ll put a few clips together for the next update. Between editing this, concerts, and a wedding, I’ve been swamped. If you’d like to support this project, click here or click the picture above.

And so it begins. Editing the final cut for Fifty-Two. I laid down the grown work for the intro and beginning of first scene.

Here is the trailer for my upcoming documentary, Fifty-Two. The documentary itself will explain what it’s like to work with a non-profit while traveling on the Vans Warped Tour for Fifty-Two days. In the final product, you’ll see interviews, scenes, and tour life experiences on what can go on during tour. I’ve been asked many times, “What’s it like to work for a non-profit on Warped Tour?” I’m determined to answer that in this film.

If you are interested in supporting this project, you can purchase a 12x18 poster print for $12 (free shipping) here or visit http://deangelisphotography.bigcartel.com/product/fifty-two-film-poster-12x18.

Re-blog please! One random re-blogger will win a free 12x18 documentary poster.

PS. I recommend letting it load all the way first and leave comments to let me know what you think!

Sincerely,
Adam

Another screen shot, boring.
But the final touches have been made! Now to head to Starbucks to upload it.
